One of the easiest ways to repel this pest and ensure you are safe from mosquito bites all season long is to use peppermint oil. This oil has a very strong, potent scent that can repel most insects - especially mosquitoes - as they have a keen sense of smell.

To use peppermint oil as a mosquito repellant, add several drops of this oil into a spray bottle. Place a drop or two of dish soap in the bottle and fill it up with water, then combine the mixture thoroughly.

Once your repellant is ready, spray the mixture around the foundation of your property, around doors, windows, and patios. Be careful that dogs and cats do not consume the mixture, as peppermint oil can be dangerous for pets.
